Bespoke Workshops, Classes & Whimsical residentials of the ARTY kind. (including collaborations!)
Learn a new skill, re-ignite the passion for an old one & have some fun!

Serendipity: An opportunity to find something good (by chance!) Be Curious! Feel lucky!
Embrace 2026 with the excitement it deserves!

Jayne and Pip are both delighted to be running a cosy winter retreat that embraces kindness, creativity and care (with a big dose of fun!) in a beautiful farm house in North Devon, near Bude. Alongside guided art activities, there will be opportunities for rest and relaxation including exploring the great outdoors, languishing in the hot tub and channelling your inner olympic medalist in the swimming pool, alongside much silliness too.

This 3 night retreat begins on Friday evening and continues Monday morning - giving you plenty of time to pamper yourself!
The evening will kick off with a welcome drink, a dip in the hot tub and dinner together … it’s a chance to meet everyone, settle into your accommodation
and we might have a surprise or two up our sleeves for you all!

Saturday and Sunday will be spent doing a multitude of lovely things alongside lovely people! These will include a variety of arty activities, daily walks to explore the countryside, time in the sauna and pool, and maybe a spot of yoga too for those who want it.
There’s a cosy fire in the sitting room and even the odd board game to play - I feel a challenge coming on!

A full programme of art will go out later but I’m thinking large scale, monotone sketching with paint, charcoal and gesso; colourful Anilinky paint on tissue paper boards: new techniques with Acrylic on canvas and perhaps a spot of mono-printing - using local fauna and flora…
Watch this space for more information.

Delicious homemade meals and yummy cakes will be served  each day - all cooked with local ingredients and made with love.
We may well end this wonderful retreat with a delicious late Sunday lunch in a cosy local pub! (All included.) Sunday night is included too..
A detailed programme will go out to everyone who books a place but it will still have to be flexible, because of the weather. Especially in January.

Creative Workshops, Classes & Residentials of the Arty Kind: Unleash your inner creative and let the journey begin!

It all begins with an idea.

My idea is to encourage you unleash your inner creative whilst having some fun!
Spend an afternoon/evening/day with friends, family or new friends, creating your very own art to take home. Join me for a guided art session, or a weekly class; even a full on residential, where you will create a picture to be proud of - whatever medium you use or level you’re starting at!

No prior art experience necessary and every opportunity will be offered to encourage you unleash your own creativity!

Here’s what a few folk have said:

It’s given me a new life! A reason to get up and look forward to the day. I just love painting!’
Sandy

‘I love the friendship and comradery of these groups - its inspiring to be arty with others.”

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! for always being optimistic and inspiring and for instilling confidence in my abilities. Lynne

I learn so much spending time with you and seeing how everyone interprets a painting challenge. It’s the highlight of my week!

AN INTRODUCTION TO PAINTING & DRAWING:

On this short course you will be using PENCIL, INK & CHARCOAL, ACRYLIC PAINT and WATERCOLOUR PAINT to introduce you to them: how they ‘work’ and the effects that can be created with them. You will be invited to ‘play’ with these mediums as a complete beginner (in a relaxed, friendly style in my studio on Cremyll Street. Plymouth.)

This THREE WEEK COURSE (or ONE FULL DAY course) is aimed at folks who want to learn the basics and enjoy new arty challenges.
Week One: Drawing with pencil, charcoal & ink.
Week Two: Painting with Acrylics
Week Three: Painting with Watercolour

All materials will be supplied, alongside friendly tuition in a lovely art studio. This course is booked as a block at £75 pp (a minimum number is needed to run it, but there will be a maximum of 6 in the class to ensure individual help and support!)

  1. October 15th, 22nd & 29th
    Wednesday evenings 6pm-8pm (Now full!)

  2. NEW DAY TIME WEEKLY CLASS TBC - NOVEMBER 2025

  3. JANUARY 2026 TBC

These have been and gone …
1: September 3rd, 10th & 17th (This kicked off with great success!)
2: Saturday 20th September 10am-4pm (Another fabulous day … the time flew by!)

Comments from folk who’ve attended so far:
I feel like a bloody artist! SANDY
Loved it! When can I start a weekly class? CLAIRE
I really did enjoy the class - thank you. SUE
Enjoyed yesterday. Thanks. MIKE
I really enjoyed ‘playing’ with the different tools and mediums - now I can’t wait to practice! TASH

I can’t believe how popular these classes have been and so I will be scheduling more! Watch this space for dates or please get in touch!!

If you find you enjoy one medium more than the others, you’ll be invited to join a group that focus’ on that. If you like all 3 then we’ll set something up to incorporate all mediums … and although there’s obviously no pressure to continue after the beginners course, I’m hoping it might spark some interest for you, unleashing your creativity and inspiring you to do more!

All materials will be provided on the beginners course and I’m happy to advise on what materials to get to set you up if you want to continue.

I even have art packs for you to purchase, if you’d like.

Equally, you may well have your grandads paints in the wardrobe, waiting to be let free again!
